Sandstone Peak Details

Hike to the top of the tallest peak in the Santa Monica Mountains when you embark on this 6.25-mile loop. The trail starts with a short ascent as you walk through chaparral forests and sandstone rock formations, although this eventually levels out to a flatter path next to a canyon wall. The last bit up to the summit is steep as well, but the 360-degree views from the top make it worth every step.
