This full-day 16.4-mile hike from the Vikingsholm Estate to the D.L. Bliss State Park is a great way to explore the Lake Tahoe area. From the get-go, you will have panoramic views over the lake, before entering a canopied forest filled with lush foliage. You can stay here to enjoy the shade or you can make your way down to Emerald Bay, which gets its name from the vivid turquoise waters that shine in the light. The bay can be quite busy as the day goes on, although it is still worth visiting just to cool off in the refreshing waters.
