Mills Lake Details
Named after Enos Mills, an early 20th century naturalist who believed the in the refreshing power of the great outdoors and the importance of protecting it, Mills Lake captures the beauty and sublimity of the Rocky Mountain wilderness. The sunny, subalpine lake is a popular destination, and can be reached via a rocky, but well-maintained trail. Following the general path of Glacier Creek, the trail weaves in and out of pine forest and open bedrock to the lake's shore, which it both rocky, sandy, and marshy in turn, and offers truly spectacular views of Glacier Gorge, including dramatic views of Longs, McHenrys, Taylor, and Storm Peaks.
