This 10.5-mile trail is a fun but challenging experience that is guaranteed to amaze you with its sweeping mountain and lake views. As you make your way up to the 9,735-foot summit, you will overlook Fallen Leaf Lake, Floating Island Lake, Cathedral Lake, and Gilmore Lake. You will also have a birds-eye view over South Lake Tahoe and Emerald Bay. Although parts of the trail are shaded, there is a 2-mile section that has been cleared. While this allows you to enjoy the dramatic views, it is also exposed to the sun and can therefore be the hottest part of the hike.
