Kelso Dunes Details

The ever-changing landscape of wind-blown sand dunes is a surreal backdrop for this strenuous 3-mile hike. As one of the Mojave Preserves most unusual features, these sand dunes rise over 600-feet above the desert floor. The challenge is not because it is length or high elevation, but rather the fact you will be trudging through the sand the entire way. It is especially hard making your way to the summit of the dunes (although sliding, running, or sandboarding down is fun).
