Black Star Canyon Trail Details

The 6.7-mile trail through this remote canyon in the Santa Ana Mountains is best done in winter or early spring during Californias rainy season. After heavy rainfall, you will be able to see a beautiful cascading waterfall gushing down the canyon walls near the end of the trail. The first half is relatively flat and easy, although it does get more technical as you approach the falls. Boulder scrambling and a little rock climbing is required, so make sure you have appropriate footwear.
