Big Pine Creek North Fork Trail Details
This popular trail through the Inyo National Forest takes you to the seven different Big Pine Lakes, some of the most stunning attractions in the park. Especially considering they are backed by the mighty Palisade Glacier (the largest glacier in the Sierra Nevada) which has a peak of approximately 14,000-feet above sea level. The full journey is 15.2-miles out and back, and it is recommended that you spend at least one or two nights (you can camp at any of the lakes). Although it is a well-maintained trail, there are some steep inclines, which makes this journey better suited for intermediate hikers.
