Tioga Road/Big Oak Flat Road Details

This is one of the most scenic routes through Yosemite National Park. For 56 miles, you will ascend over 3,000-feet in elevation as you cross the Tioga Pass, which features sweeping views of the Tuolumne and Merced sequoia groves and alpine waters of Tenaya Lake. It is definitely worth stepping outside the car and exploring the park on foot, as there are numerous hiking trails and nature paths offering even more amazing experiences. Keep in mind the road is only open from late spring to early fall, as heavy snow can be hazardous on this route.
