State of Jefferson Scenic Byway Details
This is a beautiful ride from California up to Oregon. Leaving from Yreka, you will travel through the rocky, mountainous terrain of the Siskiyou and Coastal Mountain forests. You will have views over both the Shasta and Klamath Rivers and of several historic gold mining towns. The byway is just over 100-miles long, although the last 38-miles stray from the riverbanks and head into the forest while it approaches the border (there is not even a sign showing you have crossed). This is the most beautiful section of the journey.
