This scenic byway takes you from the coast of California inland and up towards the California-Oregon Border. It travels along the mighty Smith River, taking you up close to the budding azalea and rhododendron fields, dogwood forests, and the tree-topped cliffs of the Smith River Canyon. This is one of the best places in Northern California for white water rafting, although less adventurous travelers can also enjoy swimming or tubing instead. Hiking trails wind through the region, offering even more stunning views of the landscape.
