This 71-mile stretch of road along the Pacific Coast Highway is arguably one of the most beautiful drives in all of California. It hugs the edge of the rocky coastline, winding along the sheer cliffs and drop-offs overlooking the powerful crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean. It might be hard to decide exactly what is more scenic the view of the ocean or the inland redwood forests. But since the entire journey should take five or six hours, you will have more than enough time to soak in both those stunning views. And if that is not enough, you can continue all the way up to San Francisco or down to Southern California.
