Route 154--San Marcos Pass Road Details
Skip the busy 101 and take the back roads instead! This lovely 32-mile stretch leaves the roaring coast of Santa Barbara and heads inland straight towards the Santa Ynez Mountains. You can also make a few detours if you want to see even more stunning natural sights. The Los Padres National Forest and Lake Cachuma are both a short drive away. It may add some time to your commute, but you can not compare the sweeping valley views to the stop-and-go traffic on a crowded freeway.
