If you have a few extra days on your hand, then take a drive down one of the most scenic routes in Northern California. This 185-mile loop passes both the Lassen National Forest and Lassen Volcanic National Park where you will have views of snow-covered peaks, lush valleys, and expansive meadows from all angles. Some of the best views are from the Bumpass Hell Parking Overlook, the Kinds Creek Meadow Pull-out, and the Chaos Crags and Jumples Scenic Pull-out. You can also enjoy the sprawling landscape from atop the highest point of Lassen Peak, which sits over 8,500-feet above sea level.
