Although this park has almost 3,000-acres of land to explore, most visitors come to see the iconic Saddleback Butte. The trail to the peak is roughly 2.5 miles and meanders through native Joshua trees and creosote bushes. It is not the easiest hike, but the rewarding views of Antelope Valley and the Mojave Desert are worth every step. During the summer, the campsites fill up with stargazers who come to take advantage of the practically pitch-black skies. Just watch out for the deadly Green rattlesnakes who slither their way through the park during the warmer months.
