Point Sur State Historic Park Details

This park on the Big Sur coastline is home to the only accessible lighthouse from the late 1800s in California. The Point Sur Lighthouse was built in 1889 and is still used today, although it became fully automated in 1974. Three-hour tours of the lighthouse and 92-acre property are conducted each weekend by volunteers. Guests can also explore the Point Sur State Marine Reserve, a protected area home to sea otters and migrating gray whales.
