Although it is located in Southern California, do not expect to have sunshine and warm weather during your visit to this park. It is home to the 10,834-foot-tall Mount San Jacinto, which is the second tallest mountain in the area. At such high altitudes, you can expect several feet of snow on the ground from November to April. However, on a warm day, you can take the aerial tramway to the peak, which overlooks the Coachella Valley. There is also an extensive trail system, with multi-day and day hikes available for all skill levels.
