Lily Lake Details
This pretty, accessible trail navigates the wooded shores of this subalpine lake, which sits comfortably in the ecotone zone between the upper-montane and lower subalpine zones. The level, hard packed gravel trail leads through scenic lodgepole pine forest and sunny wetlands surrounding the lake, and features a number of educational exhibits highlighting the flora, fauna, and natural history of the area, as well as a picnic area and an accessible fishing pier. Although the lake is seldom considered the most beautiful of Rocky Mountain National Park lakes, it is surrounded by the iconic summits of Longs Peak and Twin Sister Peaks, as well as the nearby Lily Mountain.
