This is the site of one of the most influential battles of the American Revolutionary War. The Battle of Hubbardton was fought between 1,200 American soldiers and 850 British soldiers (with the help of 180 German troops), with the Americans eventually claiming victory. Not much has changed on this site since the bloody battle, except for a museum and the marble monument that was erected in 1859. It is a somber site to look around the beautiful fields and meadows, imagining the treacherous events that took place here just 250 years ago.
