Mud Creek WMA Details

Even the most experienced of birders have probably never heard of this wildlife area in nonwestern Vermont. It contains over 1,150-acres of natural marshlands and forested swamps, which are prime habitats for numerous species of birds, reptiles, and mammals. You might find Red-winged Blackbirds, Northern Harriers, or Marsh Wrens nesting in between the cattails, or Yellow Warblers, Pileated Woodpeckers, and Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers flocking from tree to tree. It is also home to the endangered Black Tern, who use the thick marshes are a breeding ground.
