Mount Philo Details

This is a great all-around hike for all skill levels. Although the mountain is really more like a large hill (the peak is only 968-feet above sea level), visitors will still be able to enjoy sweeping scenic views like they would from atop some of the higher ranges in Vermont. The outlook gazes directly over Lake Champlain, Mount Abraham, and Ellen, and even at Mount Whiteface. This gentle trailhead is well-maintained and mostly flat, except for the short but steep incline to reach the peak. It is perfectly suitable for children and even seniors, although some may prefer to drive up to the summit instead.
