Lake Willoughby Trail Details

Sheltered between Mount Hor and Mount Pisgah, this glistening glacial lake is one of Vermont's most stunning natural wonders. Although it attracts a fair share of day visitors for swimming and fishing, it is also a beautiful area for hikers as well. For the best views glancing over the lake, you can hike up the 1.7-mile South Trail towards the summit of Mount Pisgah. It is a somewhat steep hike, although it should only take you between 1 to 1.5-hours in total to reach the top. However, it is worth every step once you see those stunning views over the entire lake and lush forested mountains.
