Camp Plymouth State Park Details
There is a lot of history to explore on this 295-acre property. Before it became a state park in 1989, this area was used as a military post during the French and Indian War as well as the American Revolution. It was then converted into farmland in the 1840s and then as a gold mining operation until the early 1900s. After the company went bankrupt, it sold to the Boy Scouts of America and opened up as a camp. Nowadays, you can still participate in many of the same activities that the troops did decades before. Swimming, horseback riding, boating, picnicking, and fishing are all possible. Overnight guests can stay at the campsite near Buffalo Brook or rent fully-furnished cottages near the lakes shore.
