Nestled in the Taconic Mountains and overlooking the shores of Vermonts largest lake (Lake Bomoseen), this park is the perfect mix of land and water. You can participate in a number of outdoor activities, including hiking, boating, fishing, and swimming. The park first opened in 1960, when 365-acres of private land was donated to the state to be used for a wildlife refuge. Since then, it has grown to be 3,576 acres, with more than 2,000 of those encompassing Glen Lake and Half Moon State Park. Near the lake, you will find a little beach, boat rental facilities, and a picnic area. There are also several campsites and even a hiking trail that connects to the nearby Half Moon Pond State Park.
