Lost River Gorge Details
Carved over 300 million years ago, this deep ravine along the Kinsman Notch mountain pass is a stunning sight you need to see to believe. The river itself winds for 4 miles through these massive granite peaks before merging with the Pemigewasset River in the south. The best way to see the gorge is by walking along the 1/4 mile wooden boardwalk that travels down into the crevice. Along the way, you will get to see numerous rock formations waterfalls (like the impressive 35-foot Paradise Falls). The boardwalk also leads you to several boulder caves, which you are free to explore.
