Lake Winnipesaukee

New Hampshires largest lake deserves all the attention it gets as being the crowned gem of the Lakes Region. Not only does it have the awe-inspiring backdrop of the White Mountains peeking behind the tree line, but it also features 288-miles of shoreline, eight lakeside towns, and 264 individual islands. On a lake this large, there is no shortage of fun things to see and do. Besides the normal lake activities like swimming, fishing, and hiking, you can also spend your time riding the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, playing minigolf at Weirs Beach, or shopping along with the historic town of Wolfeboro. It is also worth taking a cruise on the MS Mount Washington paddle steamer for a scenic tour or sunset cruise.
