Although this trail is only 1.2-miles right now, it will eventually be over 5 when it is completed. This will create a direct route from Derry to the northern part of Lawrence, Massachusetts, adding to the larger well-connected Granite State Rail Trail. At the moment, this trail is split into two sections. The southern segment runs through Main Street in Salem, while the northern trail is more rugged and scenic.
