With beautiful views of the soaring mountains and lush valleys, this 8.7-mile trail is a great way to explore Franconia Notch State Park. It crosses from one end of the park to the other, taking you to all the big attractions like the Old Man of the Mountain Historic Site, Echo Lake, and Flume Gorge. You will experience a few elevation changes near the Skookumchuck trail as it passes Cannon Mountain and the Mt. Pemigewasset trailhead. But after Echo Lake and the Old Man of the Mountain, it is mostly downhill for the rest of the way.
