Derry Rail Trail Details
This fast-paced 4-mile trail retraces the former Derry Rail system from the 1800s. Although the railway has been paved, you can still see the Derry Depot, which has since been converted into a restaurant. The entire trail is smooth and well-paved, so it is suitable for families. While much of the path is through the secluded wetlands and woods, there is a section that goes through the town, so pay attention to pedestrians and vehicles. Eventually, this trail will connect with the nearby Londonderry trail, so cyclists will have an additional 8 miles to ride.
