Old Bridle Path Details

A great trail for beginners, this 1.7-mile out and back loop is a scenic trip through the West Rattlesnake Natural Area. The trail is well-maintained and easy to navigate, with only a slight inclination as you make your way up to several flights of stairs. From the top of the trail, you will have clear views over the stunning 6,791-acre Squam Lake. This year-round trail can be hiked any time of the year, but if you plan on coming in winter, make sure to bring crampons or walking sticks.
