Mount Monadnock Details

It is easy to see why this is one of the most hiked mountains in the world. The awe-inspiring views from this imposing 3,165-foot summit are unparalleled to anything else in New Hampshire. Not only will you see Mount Washington, but on a clear day, you can also see Boston off in the distance. There are several ways to reach the top, although most first-time hikers will choose to head up on the White Dot Trail and back down on the White Cross Trail. This is a 3.8-mile journey in total, with only a few stairs and rocks that need to be climbed. You will likely be shaded by the treetops, although the summit is bare and open, so you can soak in those panoramic vistas.
