This moderate trail has plenty of fun obstacles to overcome. Not only will you need to climb up a few rocks to reach the lake, but you will also need to cross a few flowing rivers (so make sure to wear appropriate footwear). Although the entire loop is a little over 6-miles long, the alpine lake is situated on a high plateau at the base of Cannon Mountain and the Cannonballs approximately 3 miles from the starting point. Once you arrive, you can grab lunch at the AMC Hut or dip your feet in the refreshing lake waters.
