Visit some of the earliest settlements in New Hampshire history when you drive along this 21-mile circular loop. You will stop by Hampton, a small settlement on the Atlantic coast that originated in 1638. Then you will drive parallel to the 101 until you reach Exeter, the original state capital during the War of Independence. From Exeter, you will explore the southern part of the route through Kensington, which is known for its 18th-century farmsteads.
