A short 10-mile drive north of Berlin drops you off at this picturesque state park. It is a popular spot for locals who want to spend the weekend exploring the rugged landscape of the mountains. The origins of the area date back to the 1930s when it was built as a camp to house members of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Fishing, canoeing, and hiking are popular activities. Overnight guests can camp or sleep in one of the yurts or covered shelters. The views from the campground are nothing short of breathtaking, with sweeping views over New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Canada.
