Located inside the 19th-century Old Lumpkin County Courthouse, this museum commemorates Georgias mining industry during the gold rush of the 1800s. You will be able to see sets of rare coins, real gold nuggets, and gold panning equipment that was used by panners. In addition to the museum, you will also get to see the inside of the oldest surviving courthouse in the state. You will be able to walk through the judges chambers and see the well-preserved wooden chapel seats from 1889.
