Providence Canyon

The canyons colorful crevices and layered rock formations may seem like one of Mother Natures finest creations. However, very little of the canyon is actually natural. Many of the gullies and crevices were actually caused by erosion from bad soil management from farming in the 19th and 20th centuries. Despite the man-made formations, this canyon is still a spectacular attraction with jagged plateaus, towering pinnacles, and pink, white, and red canyon walls. There are 16 different canyons in the park, some of which are over 150-feet deep. The best views are from the rim, although it is also worth walking along the trails that lead around the park.
