Amicalola Falls Details
There is something magical about gazing up at Georgias tallest waterfall. Sure it may be the fact that it is 729-feet high, but it is also the luscious green deciduous trees that surround the sides of the falls that make it extra special. It may not be the most powerful waterfall in the state, but it is clearly one of the prettiest as it cascades down tiers of rocks and cliffs. It is believed that Native American tribes inhabited this area centuries before European settlers claimed the land. The name of the falls actually means "tumbling waters" in Cherokee. You can see the falls in all their glory by a short hike through the Amicalola Falls State Park.
