Driftwood Beach Details

As its name implies, this beach on Jekyll Island is littered with twisted oak and pine trees that have eroded and decayed over time. Their gnarly branches and curled-up trunks juxtaposed against the white sand make for an interesting backdrop for sightseers and photographers, especially at sunset. Despite being considered a "graveyard for trees," this beach is incredibly beautiful and scenic. However, the water can be quite muddy, so it is not the best area for swimming.
