Richard B. Russell State Park Details

Richard B. Russell State Park is a family and wheelchair friendly park located on the shore of Russell Lake. The park offers a beach, a top ranked18-hole golf course, a carefully maintained frisbee golf course, and a nature trail that takes walkers over one of the oldest steel pin joined bridges around. The 26,250-acre lake offers fishing and boating opportunities and, before the lake was filled, the bottomland was an archaeological dig site now known as Rucker's Bottom. The excavations indicate that Paleo Indians called the area home over 10,000 years ago.
