A paradise for urban cyclists, this 22-mile Riverwalk runs through the heart of Columbus along the banks of the Chattahoochee River. Because the Riverwalk connects many attractions, parks, and neighborhoods, the city was named one of the top 40 Bicycle Friendly Communities in the US by the League of American Bicyclists. The trail begins at Lake Oliver and travels south to Fort Benning. You can easily cycle to the Battle of Columbia, the National Infantry Museum, or even the Golden Park baseball stadium. There is even an alligator wildlife area towards the southern end of the route.
