Yonah Mountain Trail Details

This tough but rewarding hike has amazing views that gaze across the valleys and foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Although the entire round trip journey is under 4.5-miles, it is a mix of steep staircases and high-incline switchbacks right from the beginning. Once you reach the summit of this 3,166-foot mountain, you see grassy fields and open meadows that are full of life and color (especially in the spring when it is covered in wildflowers). The views are nothing short of spectacular, although it is a very steep drop down, so be careful when you're peering over the edge.
