Although they are many trails that wind through the Cohutta Wilderness, this scenically diverse journey is an adventure lovers dream. In the course of 13-miles, you will make an astounding 38 river crossings as you navigate around the Conasauga and Jacks Rivers. Because of the slippery moss-covered rocks, most hikers will bring water shoes or opt to go barefoot across the water. In addition to the rivers, you will also hike by a few waterfalls. Although none of them are as impressive as the ones along the Appalachian Trail, they still provide the perfect backdrop while you are exploring the lush, wooded forest.
