Escape into the rural countryside when you drive along this scenic 50-mile loop in northwestern Georgia. Although it seems quite calm and tranquil, these lands have bore witness to traveling Native American tribes, Civil War battles, and even early settlers to the state. Many of the farmhouses you will see along the way have not changed since they were built in the mid-1800s. Here, scenic beauty is abundant, with rugged mountain vistas, lush forests, and even a few waterfalls situated off the byway. Keown Falls Scenic Area and John's Mountain Overlook and Wildlife Management Area are just a few places where you can stop to experience the natural surroundings.
