Georgia is lucky to have some of the best hiking opportunities in the south. Can not choose between mountain peaks or waterfalls? Not sure if you would rather trek through the forest or along the coast? Well, when you are in Georgia you will not have to pick because you can experience it all. It is even home to parts of the legendary Appalachian Trail, the longest hiking-only trail on the planet. But even if you do not plan to spend weeks ascending mountains and navigating across state lines, Georgia still has wonderful day-trails where you can enjoy a bit of fresh air outdoors.
