Wildcat Canyon (Starved Rock State Park)

Take one step inside Starved Rock State Park and you will immediately feel as if you have just entered an entirely different world. Between the towering limestone rock formations and jaw-dropping river views, this lush, secluded area is a wonderland for outdoor adventure. There are 18 different canyons in this area, although this one is arguably the most dazzling of them all. Not only is it the deepest canyon in the park, but it is also home to the tallest waterfall as well. Although the 70-foot drop is at its strongest in spring, coming during winter and seeing it completely frozen over is also pretty remarkable.
