Night Sky Details
Visit Rocky Mountain National Park after dark and you'll enjoy excellent views of the Milky Way galaxy, stars, planets, and other celestial bodies. Light pollution from development near the park has somewhat degraded visibility, but the park has installed special lighting to help preserve the sky views, and the city of Estes Park requires shielded lights on all new developments. Park rangers and astronomers lead stargazing and educational programs in the summer months.
