63rd Street (Jackson Park)

Covering over 12 acres of southern Lake Michigan waterfront, this rugged beach is unlike anything else in the Chicago metro area. Along with stretches of wide sand, you will also find rolling dunes covered in grasses, cacti, and flowering vegetation, which creates a natural habitat for many of the migrating birds to visit from afar. Guests can still find a spot to hang out where it is less rustic. The beach part of the park has restrooms, showers, and a restaurant. You can also rent bikes if you want to explore the entire length of the shoreline (which we recommend for the beautiful coastal views).
