Oak Street Beach Details

This historic beach has been a cultural landmark to Chicago for over 150 years thanks to its sweeping views of the city skyline in the distance. During the summer, it is a popular destination for beachgoers, swimmers, and even volleyball players, with annual tournaments being held throughout the season. Although the beach is open throughout the day, visitors are only allowed to swim when there are lifeguards present. However, there are several rental shops nearby where you can rent bikes or beach equipment so you can still have a great time without going in the water.
