As one of southern Illinois premier outdoor destinations, this lake has tons of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Fishing, boating, kayaking, golfing, and swimming are all possible on this sprawling 18,900-acre lake. On the southwest side, you will find the South Sandusky Beach, a wide stretch of sandy beach where you can spend the day lounging in the sun and playing in the water. There is a nominal fee to visit, although you will have access to all the on-site facilities like picnic sites, showers, and restrooms.
