Kinkaid Lake Spillway Details

This swimming hole is one of Illinois best-kept secrets and finding it around the massive 2,750-acre lake is almost impossible unless you know exactly where to look. This spillway looks like a three-tiered waterfall that plummets down to a bright green pool of crystal-clear water. Although the pool is great for a swim, you will also see a lot of people perched on the rocks next to the spillway. The trickling water is very refreshing, although it can be quite strong if it was recently raining. For that reason, bring some water shoes or grippy sandals to protect your feet against the slippery rocks.
