Chicago River Walk Details

Considered to be the beating heart of Chicago, this 1.25-mile stretch of paved walkway runs straight along the southern bank of the Chicago River. It is divided into four distinct sections, each one offering unique shops, restaurants, and recreational venues to the thousands of visitors that stop by each day. Although it is been around for almost 20 years, the Riverwalk recently underwent a massive expansion in 2015. The addition of cocktail bars, boat tours, outdoor theaters, and floating gardens transformed the area into a bustling scene for both locals and tourists. Whether you are looking to spend a day out on the river or simply looking for a busy place to people watch, you will have no problem finding something fun and entertaining to do when visiting the Riverwalk.
